McLaughlin: Pay Hikes For Lawmakers Is Outrageous
Legislative Statement by Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin (R,C-Melrose)
January 24, 2012
Yesterday, we received word that Governor Cuomo and Speaker Silver are talking about giving the members of the legislature a pay raise.
Let me be perfectly clear: so long as New York has the highest taxes and the worst business climate in the country, the very idea that Albany politicians deserve a raise is outrageous. Giving them one would be downright nuts. I will be voting no on any pay hike for legislators.
