McKevitt Takes Part In Budget Committee Hearing
March 13, 2013

Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,C,I-East Meadow) took part in the General Government and Local Assistance Budget Committee Hearing yesterday evening as the Assembly Minority spokesman. The March 31 deadline for the final budget is fast approaching and lawmakers in both parties and both houses of the legislature are engaged in vital negotiations for the final product.
“We’re dealing with a proposed budget of over $140 billion,” said McKevitt. “I want to ensure this budget is handled in a fiscally responsible manner and is not bloated with an overabundance of government spending. We need to make certain we are providing funding in the right areas and doing everything possible to cut down on waste that ultimately adds to the burden on already stressed taxpayers.”
