Alert From McKevitt: Deadline For Women Of Distinction Nominations Is Fast Approaching

Assemblyman Tom McKevitt (R,C,I-East Meadow) is sending an alert to residents of the 17th Assembly District. The deadline for the 2013 Women of Distinction Awards is just around the corner on Friday, July 12, and McKevitt wants to ensure that no worthy candidates are left out.

“During my time in office, I have been fortunate to have met numerous women whose dedication to community service has been immeasurable,” said MeKevitt. “For this reason, it is a great privilege for me to host the Women of Distinction Awards. I don’t want any woman worthy of recognition to be left out, and I hope residents will take the time to nominate a deserving candidate.”

McKevitt’s selection committee will review candidates in the fields of business, education, humanitarianism, military affairs, community/civic affairs, health care, government, volunteerism or another commendable field. To nominate an individual, please submit a written or typed description of the woman’s contributions and why she should be selected, along with her contact information and yours as the nominator, to McKevitt’s district office. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and reside within the 17th Assembly District.

The award ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 10 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Farmingdale Public Library, 116 Merritts Road in Farmingdale.
