Barclay Appointed Deputy Minority Leader

Assemblyman receives new leadership post and committee assignment

Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I-Pulaski) was recently appointed Deputy Minority Leader by Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb (R,I,C-Canandaigua). Assemblyman Barclay had been serving the Minority Conference as Assistant Minority Leader. Along with his new leadership role, Barclay was appointed to the prestigious Rules Committee.

“I am honored to be appointed Deputy Minority Leader,” said Barclay. “I am pleased to have the opportunity to serve the Minority Conference in a new leadership role while continuing to represent my constituents in Central New York.”

In addition to his new appointment to the Rules Committee, Assemblyman Barclay currently sits on several committees, including Environmental Conservation, Energy, Judiciary, and Ways and Means. He also is currently the ranking minority member on the Insurance Committee.

“The new committee assignment brings new responsibilities and new opportunities,” said Barclay. “These committees allow me to be involved in a wide variety of issues and participate in discussions of important legislation that impacts all New Yorkers.”
