Kids Reminded to Send in Summer Reading Challenges

Participants Invited to Reading Party Sept. 26 in Fulton

Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I-Pulaski) reminds those who participated in the Assembly Summer Reading Challenge to send in their completed challenges.

Students who read at least 15 minutes per day for 40 days this summer and sent their completed reading challenge into the office will receive a certificate from Barclay’s office and be invited to a Summer Reading Challenge party. This year, the party will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 1-2 p.m. at the Fulton Public Library in the children’s library. Invitations will be mailed to those who completed the challenge.

Barclay said some readers already have sent in their challenges, but he looks forward to receiving more. “I enjoy receiving the challenges and learning what their favorite books are to read. There is always a variety of interests and readers,” said Barclay.

Local schools and libraries distributed reading challenges this summer. Families can mail or drop off their completed forms to Assemblyman Barclay, 200 North Second St., Fulton, NY 13069. If you would like to receive a reading challenge, please contact the office at 315-598-5185 or email at barclaw@assembly.state.ny.us.
