Assemblyman Magee Comments on Upgraded New York State Credit Rating

August 29, 2012

“After two consecutive years of on-time budgets and fiscally responsible programs, the Standard & Poor Ratings Service has taken notice – upgrading New York’s credit rating from stable to positive. We eliminated a budget deficit in excess of $10 billion dollars by cutting spending, eliminated government waste and reformed the tax code to provide much needed tax relief to middle class families. By focusing on small businesses we made our state more attractive and worthy of a credit rating upgrade. This change is a testament to the hard work the Legislature and Governor Cuomo have put in place to make New York open for business.”
