Take advantage of the STAR program, which Assemblyman Englebright helped expand and improve. Last year, Englebright helped block the governor’s attempt to freeze STAR benefits – helping to ensure working families and seniors keep more of their hard-earned money. Englebright also helped raise income eligibility levels for enhanced STAR to $63,750, providing more seniors with needed tax relief.

You must apply by March 1, 2004 to take advantage of STAR – unless you signed up for the Income Verification program last year. By entering the Income Verification program, you will not have to reapply every year. The state will automatically and confidentially confirm your eligibility.
