Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel Delivers
Two Truck Loads of Donated Items to LI Veterans

Great Neck - Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel recently delivered two truckloads of handmade valentines and donated items to the Long Island State Veterans Home in Stony Brook and the Northport VA Medical Center.

Public and parochial schools, as well as businesses and private citizens in our community helped collect two truck loads of personal care items, outerwear, and electronics for Assemblywoman Schimel's annual Valentines for Vets program.

"For the third year in a row, despite these tough economic times, residents opened up their hearts and were more generous than ever in demonstrating their strong support for our veterans," said Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel, a member of the Assembly's Veterans Affairs Committee. The Assemblywoman delivered these items to the veterans on Friday, February 12.
