$6.5 MILLION LEGISLATION FOR HEMPSTEAD VILLAGE
The 2006 legislative budget passed without the Village’s input and since this is the end of session, this legislation would have had to wait until January 2007.
In addition, it is appropriate to commend the Honorable Lenore Long, Trustee, for her vital information advising the Legislative body of potential partisan allocation of funds, employment and resources in the Village. Her input alerted the legislature to the necessity of including language that provides State Comptroller oversight and Legislative review to assure the funds are appropriated properly. These funds, $6.5 million, give the Village a fresh start to address the myriad of problems confronting us ALL by first paying our debts and paying them properly. I look forward to continue working for our constituents for the betterment of our Village.
