|Senior Information and Health Forum|
I am writing to invite you to an important and informative event that I will be sponsoring on May 6, 2004. This will be a Senior Information and Health Forum to be held at Thomasina's Banquet Hall, 205-35 Linden Blvd., St. Albans, N.Y.
Panelists at this event will include representatives of the Parodneck Foundation, the New York Foundation for Senior Citizens, and other senior advocates, as well as local hospital and healthcare representatives. The Parodneck Foundation provides financial assistance to seniors in danger of losing their homes due to debt or foreclosure, as well as to those needing help with home repairs to correct deteriorating conditions. They also offer a program called the Remediation Project which helps seniors victimized by predatory lending practices by having their debt written down, restructured, or resolved in other ways. They will also renovate rental units in seniors' homes to help maximize income to the seniors.
The Foundation for Senior Citizens offers home sharing, respite care and a host of other programs. Additionally health professionals will provide invaluable health information for senior citizens, as well as blood pressure and other screenings.
There will be a light breakfast from 9am-10am, and the event will run from 10am-2:30pm. Call (718) 657-5312 for more information. Look forward to seeing you on May 6th!
