Dear Neighbor, Asthma has become an increasingly serious health risk to many members of our community. Asthma can be life-threatening and is the leading cause of visits to the doctor’s office. Fortunately, today there are a number of treatments available for persons with asthma. Included in this pamphlet are some ways that you can fight asthma in your daily life, as well as general information about the disease. I hope that you find the information useful.

Many people with asthma experience attacks during or after exercise. You should get plenty of exercise; however, be aware of your breathing and do not overexert yourself. Exercise is one of the most common asthma triggers, affecting 60%-80% of asthma sufferers; for some, exercise is their only asthma trigger. |
