With Halloween just around the corner, Assemblywoman Margaret Markey, (D-Maspeth) is joining with the NYC Department of Parks to present a free Harvest Festival at Frank Principe Park (Maurice Park) on Saturday, October 24th from noon to 4:00 p.m.
In addition to hayrides and a pumpkin patch, youngsters will also be able to make their own costumes as well as enjoy face painting and other seasonal arts and crafts activities. To add to the fall fun, there will also be musical entertainment and inflatables.
Assemblywoman Markey said: "Our Harvest Festival is a wonderful opportunity for families and kids to enjoy the delights of the fall season. Just because we live in the city doesn't mean we can't get into the spirit of the harvest season with hayrides and pumpkins, and have fun preparing our youngsters to enjoy Halloween activities. I am happy to join with the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation in bringing this great event to our community."
The free festival is Saturday, October 24th from Noon to 4:00 in Frank Principe (Maurice) Park, located at Maurice Avenue and 63rd Street. For information call 718-651-3185.
