Assemblyman Cusick
is working to make Staten Island a better place to live

Staten Islanders
deserve results

In 2007, Assemblyman Cusick got results for Staten Island:

  • Record funding for New York City schools – a $714 million – or 10 percent – increase over the previous year

  • Creation of the new 13th Judicial District in Richmond County, providing Staten Islanders with their own separate and independent judicial district (Ch. 690 of 2007)

  • Putting a civil commitment law on the books to keep dangerous sexual predators off our streets (Ch. 7 of 2007)

  • Helped prevent illegal immigrants from obtaining driver’s licenses

Building on accomplishments

This year, Assemblyman Cusick will further his efforts to promote neighborhood safety and provide better opportunities for New York’s families and businesses, including:

  • Upholding the CFE commitment, providing every child with the education they need to succeed

  • Ensuring New York’s 400,000 uninsured children are covered under the state’s Children’s Health Insurance Plan

  • Offering full tuition at all SUNY and CUNY schools to our returning combat veterans
