It is an honor for me to celebrate African American History Month in the State of New York. I feel extremely proud of the accomplishments African Americans have achieved throughout the years.
As an Afro-Caribbean, myself, and as an immigrant, I am a direct beneficiary of the struggles this community has endured for the sake of justice and fairness. I am proud of the leadership displayed in our State in the issues of racial equality, civil rights, and human rights as well as the general advancement of people of color.
I would like to express my utmost respect for all those leaders who dedicated their lives to the pursuit of racial equality such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, Adam Clayton Powell, and so many others.
As always, please don’t hesitate to contact my office at (718) 933-6909 if you are in need of assistance or have any community concerns.
