October marks the 20th Anniversary of National Breast Cancer
Awareness Month and we have made advances, reducing its
incidence and lives lost. But it is important to remain
vigilant. According to the American Cancer Society, more
than 200,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this
year and more than 75 percent of these cases will occur in
women over 50. Early detection is one way to reduce breast
cancer deaths and mammogram screenings can help.
