In the wake of devastating floods throughout the region and concerns about the structural integrity of the Gilboa Dam, Assemblymember Cahill—in collaboration with colleagues—is working with Governor Pataki and other state leaders to ensure that the immediate needs of victims are met and that long-term flood and disaster response mitigation plans are established. Assemblymember Cahill believes that recent flooding is the latest indication that more needs to be done to protect Hudson Valley residents from further potential disasters.
