Assemblyman Marc Butler’s Plan For Cracking Down On Sex Offenders

photo Assemblyman Marc Butler is working to keep families safe from dangerous sexual predators.

Civil Confinement

Keep most dangerous sex offenders in secure facilities after their release from prison. Civil confinement would help ensure the safety of our communities.

"Zero Tolerance" for Sex Crimes

For years Assemblyman Marc Butler has fought to strenghten laws to protect women and children from sexual predators. His tough new legislation cracks down on dangerous predators to keep your family safe.

No More Slaps on the Wrist

For too long dangerous sexual predators have escaped serious punishment. Assemblyman Butler proposes a minimum 25-year sentence for dangerous sex offenders, no bail for certain felony sex offenders, ineligibility for certain violent offenders from early release, and limiting plea bargaining no matter how old the perpetrator.

Expanding the DNA Database

DNA has become a critical tool used by law enforcement to solve crimes. Assemblyman Butler supports expanding the state’s DNA database to make all convicted criminals submit DNA samples to help law enforcement officials close unsolved cases.
