Property taxes, health care, and energy costs are squeezing family budgets! It has become increasingly more difficult for families to afford to live and work in New York State. In Upstate New York, we seem to be hit the hardest with gas prices that siphon money right from our wallets.
BUTLER MOTORIST RELIEF PLAN
> Eliminate all gas taxes from Memorial Day to Labor Day. By doing so, we can save taxpayers approximately $128.6 million or 32 cents per gallon.
> Redirect a portion of the revenue generated by gas taxes, car registration and license renewal fees to be used specifically for renewable energy initiatives.
> Empower the New York State Attorney General to fully investigate and prosecute instances of gasoline price gouging.
> Reverse the state Thruway Authority’s decision to increase tolls by requiring the state Legislature to authorize any increase in tolls.
> Support alternative fuels, including biofuels, and tax incentives in an effort to wean our dependency on foreign oil.
