Kolb Calls for Community to Donate Blood
Region’s blood bank in desperate need of donations

Assemblyman Brian M. Kolb (R,C-Canandaigua) is urging residents to participate in the Canandaigua Community Blood Drive that takes place from 1:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 21 at Canandaigua Inn on the Lake.

Kolb, who is sponsoring the blood drive, stated, "Our communities are in desperate need of blood. At this point, our blood bank has only a day-and-a-half supply. Too many people in and around our communities depend on this critical, lifesaving supply for us not to get involved."

Kolb and the local unit of the American Red Cross stress that donations of O positive and negative and A positive and negative blood are most needed, but that all blood type donations are appreciated. An identification document, such as a driver license, is required to donate. Anyone who has donated blood on or before May 26 is eligible to give again.
