Assemblyman Brian Kolb Brian Kolb Wants to Bring Business Back to New York Wants to Bring Business Back to New York

Assemblyman Brian Kolb understands that we have to do more to foster job creation and economic growth. So, he’s fighting hard to cut taxes and provide employers with incentives to locate and expand their operations in our community. And, he’s pushed long and hard for tax reductions and program enhancements aimed at helping regional and state economies grow.

As a member of the Minority Small Business Task Force and chair of the Minority Manufacturing Task Force, Assemblyman Kolb has developed a plan to bring business back:

  • Reform workers’ compensation

  • Extend the Power for Jobs program to help energy intensive and at-risk employers remain competitive

  • Save small-business owners statewide $5.3 million annually through a 1% reduction in the tax rate for businesses with incomes under $390,000

  • Reduce small-business energy costs and taxes

  • Provide a small-business health insurance tax credit

  • Require at least 15% of all state contracts be awarded to small businesses

  • Increase and promote state government purchases of necessary goods from New York state-based small businesses
