harlie Nesbitt and Bill Reilich believe small businesses are the
backbone of New York’s economy. As former small businessmen, Charlie Nesbitt and Bill Reilich
know firsthand the types of support employers need to grow and succeed.
Nearly 98% of all New York companies are small businesses – they employ nearly 52% of all
working state residents. Presently, 3.6 million New Yorkers are employed by small businesses,
more than any other sector in the state.
That’s why Charlie Nesbitt and Bill Reilich introduced Assembly Bill A.6987,
the Small Business Improvement Act of 2005. This initiative provides tax credits to offset energy, health
insurance and worker training costs, reduce bureaucratic red tape and encourage the revitalization of downtown
business districts across the state.
