STAR REBATE
CHECKS
In addition to the long-term relief that the Property Taxpayers Protection Act will deliver to Monroe County homeowners, Assemblyman Bill Reilich knows homeowners need additional relief now! That is why he is fighting to restore the $354 million of your money that the governor cut from the Middle Class STAR rebate program.

Are you tired of paying the second highest property taxes in the nation?*

I know I am! That’s why I have made lowering property taxes my top priority. To address this problem, we need a new and innovative approach, one that will shake up the establishment in Albany and deliver the kind of lasting relief from skyrocketing property taxes that homeowners need and are demanding.

If you agree that we need to change the way Albany treats the taxpayers of this state, then I urge you to call my office and have your name added to the Property Tax Cap Petition. Only with your support will we be able to defeat the powers that be in Albany and make the American dream of homeownership viable in Monroe County.

* Monroe County Homeowners pay the second highest property taxes in the nation relative to the percentage of median home values.

Achieving the American Dream - owning a home, paying for your children’s education and saving for your retirement - has become an increasingly difficult challenge.

Bill Reilich understands the squeeze high taxes place on middle-class families. That’s why Bill is sponsoring the Property Taxpayers Protection Act to provide overburdened taxpayers throughout Monroe County with the relief they need to attain financial prosperity.

The Property Taxpayers Protection Act
INCREASE STATE AID TO SCHOOL DISTRICTS to cover all costs incurred from 4th and 8th grade math and English tests - saving school districts $30 million this year and reducing the need to raise taxes;

STOP UNFUNDED MANDATES that force local cities, towns and school districts to increase your property taxes to finance costly state programs;

LOWER COUNTY MEDICAID COSTS by requiring the state, not local governments, to pay for the cost of non-essential medical services and save taxpayers $10 billion within 5 years; and

CAP PROPERTY TAXES to save homeowners $1.5 billion this year!
