Owning a home is every family’s dream. Unfortunately, high property taxes are turning this dream into a nightmare for many seniors and middle-class families. To make homeownership more affordable, I support legislation that would eliminate unfunded state mandates on school districts and local governments and support strengthening the STAR program for lower taxes.

To make health care more accessible and affordable, I support measures that will reform the state’s health care system, provide tax credits for individuals’ health care needs, and expand current programs to ensure that all New Yorkers receive quality health care.

Secure, good-paying jobs are a vital part of achieving the American Dream. To improve the state’s economic climate, attract employers and retain and create jobs, I am working to lower taxes and promote programs such as Power for Jobs, which helps to keep area businesses open and people working.
