Tom O’Mara: Working to Make New York a leader in Clean and Renewable Energy

Assemblyman Tom O’Mara, Ranking Minority Member on the Assembly Energy Committee, is working to improve energy efficiency and increase the use and viability of clean and renewable sources of power across New York State. This would lay the foundation for a strong and diversified economy in upstate New York, create jobs, and provide clean and renewable power for future generations.

• New Energy Sources: To lower New York’s energy costs, Assemblyman Tom O’Mara is sponsoring legislation to renew Article X. This bill will increase energy production and calls for greater public input to ensure lower cost and cleaner power.

• Green Jobs/ Green New York Act: Promotes energy conservation and the use of clean energy technologies as a way to reduce energy consumption, lower power costs, and create a healthier environment through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

• Lower Cost Power: By extending the Power for Jobs program, which provides low-cost energy to manufacturing companies, Assemblyman O’Mara is helping to preserve and create good-paying manufacturing jobs.
