Assemblyman Tom O’Mara says it’s time to get New York back to work!

The state of our economy:

Over 850,000 New Yorkers out of work.
Costly, duplicative regulations.
2nd highest state and local tax burden in the country. This tax burden kills jobs and stifles economic growth.
Electricity prices are 62% above the national average and make the state a less attractive place to do business.
Since 2000, New York State lost nearly 500,000 residents age 25-44, creating a brain drain that is 331% higher than the national rate.

Government doesn’t create jobs, businesses do. That’s why I’m working to create a business-friendly environment that grows jobs and puts New Yorkers back to work.—Tom O’Mara.

Lowering taxes to make the state a more affordable place to own and operate a business and create an environment that encourages job creation.
Reducing energy costs to help our region’s businesses become more competitive and allow them to create and retain more jobs.
Utilizing economic incentives like Empire Zones, Power for Jobs and IDAs to make the state a more attractive place to run a business and help current employers create and retain jobs.
Strengthening partnerships between the region’s colleges, BOCES and local manufacturers to provide young New Yorkers with employment opportunities and give businesses the skilled workforce they need.
