The State Budget took a
Small Step in the right direction...
Commits to creating jobs in Western New York.
Pros:
  • Saves agricultural programs for our communities’ farmers.
  • Focuses on job creation in Western New York.
  • Provides low-cost energy for New York’s small businesses.
  • Protects important programs for our seniors, including the EPIC prescription drug program.
  • Reforms the Medicaid system to save taxpayer money.
  • Reduces spending for government operations by ten percent.
  • Merges redundant state agencies.
...but we need a
Leap Forward.
No mandate relief
No property tax cap
Cons:
  • Reduces education funding for Western New York school children.
  • Provides no mandate relief for local governments, school districts or taxpayers.
  • Fails to provide a property tax cap.
  • Fails to enact a state spending cap.
  • Leaves the fate of our corrections workers unclear.
