Ceretto Questions State For Using Economic Development Funds To Move Jobs Out Of Niagara County

Assemblyman John Ceretto (R,I-Lewiston) today sent a letter to Kenneth Adams, President and CEO of Empire State Development (ESD), which questioned the economic development corporation for using $700,000 in taxpayer money to lure Unifrax away from Niagara Falls and helped them to expand operations in Erie County's Town of Tonawanda.

"This substantial economic-development funding should have been used to help the company expand here, not in Erie County," said Ceretto. "For a city that is hemorrhaging jobs and people, having Empire State Development actively encourage that exodus is upsetting. The $700,000 should have been used as an incentive to help Unifrax expand operations here, not in Erie County."
