John Ceretto: Upholding Family Traditions
In just his first year, Assemblyman John Ceretto helped lead the fight to protect our family traditions and promote New York’s $6 billion-a-year hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreational industries by:
  • Lowering the age from 14 to 12 years old for an individual to obtain a junior archery license in order to promote hunting by allowing more young people to get involved in outdoor sports. (A.2021-A)

  • Transferring lifetime hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses held by a member of the armed forces who died in military operations on or after September 11, 2001, to pass down this important heritage to future generations. (A.6440-A)

  • Promoting legislation to streamline Niagara County’s pistol-permit process in order to ensure that law-abiding New Yorkers have timely access to their Second Amendment right.

  • Protecting the region’s fishing and boating industries by enhancing natural resources management for the Great Lakes and other local bodies of water. (A.5318-A)*

*This year, Assemblyman Ceretto also sent a letter to Ohio Governor John Kasich urging him to veto legislation which would allow Ohio manufacturers, mining operations, power plants, and other businesses to draw up to 5 million gallons of water a day directly from Lake Erie before facing regulation.
Standing Up For Our Rights

To protect sportsmen’s rights, Assemblyman John Ceretto Voted NO on legislation that would place additional costs on certain future firearm purchases.

The legislation, known as micro-stamping, would significantly raise the cost of owning a firearm in New York State and would be devastating for our state’s firearm manufacturers and distributors.
