Statement on LMDC Vote to Allocate Funding for the World Trade Center Performing Arts Center

Today is a great step forward for our community’s long-promised World Trade Center Performing Arts Center (PAC). The funding allocated to this important project by the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation (LMDC) signals a strong commitment to ensuring that we move ahead in building the PAC, which will be a vibrant cultural center for our Downtown community. I have been a strong advocate for the PAC and I have fought for years to see it come to fruition. With today’s vote, Lower Manhattan is one step closer to becoming the home of what I know will be a world-class venue for music, dance and the performing arts. I want to thank Governor Cuomo, Mayor Bloomberg and the LMDC for their continued commitment to the PAC and to Lower Manhattan’s rebuilding.
