Legislature Announces Details of
Attorney General Screening Process

Legislative Leaders today announce details of the screening process to fill the vacancy in the Office of Attorney General as required by law. A bi-partisan, bi-cameral committee of the Legislature will interview candidates seeking appointment to serve the remainder of the current term of the Attorney General.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, beginning at 2:00 p.m. and Wednesday, May 16, 2018, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Hamilton Hearing Room B, Legislative Office Building in Albany. These interviews will be open to the public and will be available for live viewing on the New York State Assembly website:

Candidates will be given the opportunity to make an opening statement and to answer questions from members of the committee in order to assess their qualifications for the position.
