Speaker Heastie Statement on the Re-Election of Mario Cilento as President of the AFL-CIO
I would like to offer my sincerest congratulations to my good friend and junior high school classmate Mario Cilento on his re-election as president of the AFL-CIO.
For years, Mario has fought to improve the lives and working conditions of the hardworking men and women of New York. He fought alongside my colleagues and I in the Assembly Majority to deliver workers a robust paid family leave program, living wages for all and countless other critical protections.
I wish him continued success in his role, and I look forward to working with him in the years ahead fighting for working men and women across the state.
