LEGISLATIVE ACTION
The Legislature rejects the Executive`s proposal to merge the Crime
Victims Board (CVB) into a new Department of Justice (DOJ).
Recognizing the need for additional support for crime victims
assistance services, the Legislature concurs with the Executive
proposal to increase the victims assistance fees and mandatory
surcharges under the penal and vehicle and traffic laws. In addition,
the Legislature adds $435,000 for additional Crime Victims Assistance
and a Crime Victims Restitution Pilot Program.
Article VII
Legislation is enacted to increase the crime victims assistance fees
and mandatory surcharges under the penal and vehicle traffic laws.
Legislative Additions
The Legislature provides funding for the following:
CRIME VICTIMS ASSISTANCE SERVICES FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT SURVIVORS.
