LEGISLATIVE ACTION
The Legislature appropriates $386,785,000 on an All Funds basis for
the Department of Taxation and Finance, concurring with the Executive
recommendation.
Legislative Reductions
The Legislature reduces General Fund support for the Tax Compliance
Program by $1,876,000 by reducing nonpersonal services. This is a
technical action to effectuate the appropriation for the Tax Revenue
arrearage Account.
The Legislature reduces funding for the Revenue and Information
Management Program, Special Revenue Funds, New York City Assessment
Account by $124,000 by reducing nonpersonal services. This is a
technical action to effectuate the appropriation for the Tax Revenue
Arrearage Account.
Legislative Changes
The Legislature appropriates $2,000,000 to the Tax Revenue Arrearage
Account to provide for vendors collecting unpaid
out of state taxes. This is a new Special Revenue Fund.
Article VII
The Legislature approves the legislation proposed by the Executive to
create a new Special Revenue Fund to be known as the Tax Revenue
Arrearage Account. This account will be established in the joint
custody of the State Comptroller and the Commissioner of Taxation and
Finance. Funds are to be allocated for contract vendors collecting
out-of-state uncollected taxes. Such collections are to be deposited
into this fund for such contractor payments or reallocation to the
General Fund.
