Provides that the process for declining designation to a county committee party position does not need to be included in the notice provided by the board of elections of the city of New York of such party position designation.

AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to not including the proc-
ess for declining designation to a county committee party position in
the notice provided by the board of elections of the city of New York
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Subdivision 14 of section 6-134 of the election law, as
2 added by a chapter of the laws of 2024 amending the election law relat-
3 ing to notifying candidates of designation for certain county commit-
4 tees, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 6199-B and A. 494-B,
5 is amended to read as follows:
6 14. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, upon receipt
7 of a designating petition pursuant to this section, the board of
8 elections of the city of New York shall provide notice to each candidate
9 designated in such petition for election to a party position of a county
10 committee located within the city of New York informing such candidate
11 of such designation [and the process for declining such designation in
12 accordance with the provisions of section 6-146 of this article].
13 § 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same
14 manner as a chapter of the laws of 2024 amending the election law relat-
15 ing to notifying candidates of designation for certain county commit-
16 tees, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 6199-B and A. 494-B,
17 takes effect.
