        Introduced  by  M.  of  A.  GOTTFRIED  --  read once and referred to the
          Committee on Higher Education
 
        AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation  to  limited  permits  to
          practice dentistry
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 

     1    Section 1. Section 6605 of the education law is amended  by  adding  a
     2  new subdivision 5 to read as follows:
     3    5.  Dental  school graduates shall not be required to obtain a limited
     4  permit if they are employed in an approved  residency  program  for  the
     5  purpose of fulfilling initial licensure requirements pursuant to section
     6  sixty-six  hundred  two  of this article. The department may charge such
     7  residents a reasonable residency registration fee which shall not exceed
     8  the limited permit fee specified in subdivision four of this section.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
    10  it shall have become a law.
