        AN ACT to amend the public housing law, in relation to requiring the New
          York city housing authority to provide adequate and reliable  internet
          service for all housing authority residents

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The public housing law is amended by adding a  new  section
     2  402-h to read as follows:
     3    §  402-h.  NYCHA internet service. The New York city housing authority
     4  (NYCHA) shall be required to  provide  adequate  and  reliable  internet
     5  service at all NYCHA residential properties which can be accessed at any
     6  time by NYCHA residents.
     7    §  2.  Paragraph  (a)  of subdivision 1 of section 402-e of the public
     8  housing law, as amended by chapter 338 of the laws of 2024,  is  amended
     9  to read as follows:
    10    (a) In order to ensure compliance and enforcement of the New York city
    11  housing  authority's  duty  to  provide  heat,  water, electricity, gas,
    12  internet service, where provided and elevator service, the New York city
    13  housing  authority  shall   publish   information   regarding   reported
    14  disruptions  in  such  services,  the length of such disruptions and the
    15  steps taken to restore services and shall remedy  interruptions  of  gas
    16  service in accordance with subdivision five of this section. Starting on
    17  May  first,  two  thousand  twenty,  the New York city housing authority
    18  shall publish such information on its website. For six months after  the
    19  original  publication  date,  the  New York city housing authority shall
    20  retain such information on its website.
    21    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately; provided,  however,  that
    22  the amendments to paragraph (a) of subdivision 1 of section 402-e of the
    23  public  housing law made by section two of this act shall take effect on
    24  the same date and in the same manner as chapter 338 of the laws of 2024,
    25  takes effect.
