        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  penal law, in relation to extortion or coercion
          related to immigration status
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Subdivision  4  of  section  135.60  of the penal law, as
     2  amended by section 1 of part NN of chapter 55 of the laws  of  2018,  is
     3  amended to read as follows:
     4    4. Accuse some person of a crime or cause criminal charges or deporta-
     5  tion proceedings to be instituted against him or her; or
     6    §  2.  Subparagraph  (iv) of paragraph (e) of subdivision 2 of section
     7  155.05 of the penal law is amended to read as follows:
     8    (iv) Accuse some person of a crime or cause criminal charges or depor-
     9  tation proceedings to be instituted against him or her; or
    10    § 3. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day  after  it  shall
    11  have become a law.
