        Introduced by M. of A. DINOWITZ -- read once and referred to the Commit-
          tee on Election Law
 
        AN  ACT to amend the election law, in relation to signatures for certain
          party positions; and providing for the repeal of such provisions  upon
          expiration thereof
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 6-136 of the election law is amended  by  adding  a
     2  new subdivision 4 to read as follows:
     3    4.  Notwithstanding  subdivision  two  of  this section, for any party
     4  position of member of the ward, town, city  or  county  committee,  such
     5  petitions  must  be signed by not less than three per centum of the then
     6  enrolled voters of the party residing within the election  district  for
     7  which  such  position  is  to  be  voted  (excluding  voters in inactive
     8  status).
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire  December
    10  31,  2020 when upon such date the provisions of this act shall be deemed
    11  repealed.
