          ORTIZ -- read once and referred to the Committee on Insurance
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  administrative code of the city of New York, in
          relation to clearly marking certain pedestrian crosswalks in any  city
          having a population of one million or more persons

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The administrative code of the city of New York is  amended
     2  by adding a new section 19-112.1 to read as follows:
     3    § 19-112.1 Marking certain pedestrian crosswalks and ramps. All pedes-
     4  trian  crosswalks  and ramps, not located at street intersections, shall
     5  be clearly marked and painted. This provision shall apply  to  both  new
     6  and reconstructed crosswalks and ramps.
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
