        Introduced  by M. of A. GLICK -- read once and referred to the Committee

        AN ACT to amend the real property law,  in  relation  to  discrimination
          based upon social media access
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. The real property law is amended by adding  a  new  section
     2  237-b to read as follows:
     3    §  237-b.  Discrimination  based upon social media access. Any person,
     4  firm or corporation owning or having  in  charge  any  apartment  house,
     5  tenement  house  or  other  building  or manufactured home park used for
     6  dwelling purposes who shall require a prospective or current  tenant  to
     7  provide  anyone access to such tenant's social media accounts, including
     8  but not limited to any log-in name, password or other means for  access-
     9  ing  a  personal  account, service, or electronic communications device,
    10  shall be guilty of a violation.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
