        Introduced  by  M. of A. LALOR, DeSTEFANO, DiPIETRO, MORINELLO, SALKA --
          read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations
 
        AN ACT to amend the legislative law, in  relation  to  term  limits  for
          legislators
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. The legislative law is amended by adding a new section  2-a
     2  to read as follows:
     3    §  2-a.  Legislative term limits. Members of the legislature shall not
     4  serve more than four two-year terms in either the senate or  the  assem-
     5  bly.
     6    §  2.  This  act  shall take effect immediately and shall apply to all
     7  elections held after this act shall have become a law.
