          Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse
 
        AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to the  availability
          of buprenorphine in opioid treatment programs
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The mental hygiene law is amended by adding a  new  section
     2  32.12 to read as follows:
     3  § 32.12 Availability of buprenorphine.
     4    Any  provider  of  services  or facility providing chemical dependence
     5  services shall  have  buprenorphine  available  to  be  administered  to
     6  addicts.  Such controlled substance shall be administered by a physician
     7  or group of physicians pursuant to subdivision (b) of section  32.05  of
     8  this article.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
    10  it shall have become a law.  Effective immediately, the addition, amend-
    11  ment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implemen-
    12  tation  of  this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and
    13  completed on or before such effective date.
