        Introduced  by  M. of A. RYAN -- read once and referred to the Committee
          on Housing
 
        AN ACT to amend the public housing law, in relation to the exclusion  of
          veterans' disability benefits from computation of income
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1     Section 1.   Section 156 of the public  housing  law  is  amended  by
     2  adding a new subdivision 8 to read as follows:
     3     8.    For  the  purposes  of  this section, probable aggregate annual
     4  income shall not include disability benefits paid by the federal govern-
     5  ment to a veteran for a  service-connected  disability  nor  shall  such
     6  disability  benefits be included in computing any surcharge against such
     7  veteran.
     8    § 2.  This act shall take effect on the first of January next succeed-
     9  ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
