        Introduced by M. of A. SAYEGH -- read once and referred to the Committee
          on Judiciary
 
        AN  ACT in relation to exempting Yonkers city court judge Edward Gaffney
          from the age limitation for judicial office
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, Edward Gaffney,
     2  a  city court judge serving in the city of Yonkers, who was elected to a
     3  10-year term in the year 2010, shall be exempt from the  age  limitation
     4  for  judicial  office  specified  in section 23 of the judiciary law, so
     5  that such judge may serve the remainder of his term in  compliance  with
     6  the  law.  Such  exemption  shall  only apply to Judge Gaffney's current
     7  term, and shall not apply to any  other  judicial  office  that  may  be
     8  affected by such section.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
