        Introduced  by  M. of A. COOK -- read once and referred to the Committee
          on Insurance
 
        AN ACT to amend the insurance  law,  in  relation  to  health  insurance
          coverage for services by nutritionists
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Subparagraphs (J) and (K) of paragraph 1 of subsection  (b)
     2  of  section  4301  of the insurance law, as relettered by chapter 456 of
     3  the laws of 1993, are amended and a new subparagraph  (L)  is  added  to
     4  read as follows:
     5    (J) necessary appliances, drugs, medicines and supplies, [and]
     6    (K)  bio-analytical  or  clinical  laboratory examinations and reports
     7  thereof reported to a physician, osteopath, dentist, optometrist, podia-
     8  trist, chiropractor or physical therapist made by any privately operated
     9  bioanalytical or clinical laboratory[.], and
    10    (L) nutritional care provided through licensed nutritionists.
    11    § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next  succeed-
    12  ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
