        Introduced  by M. of A. CALHOUN -- read once and referred to the Commit-
          tee on Codes
 
        AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation  to  designating
          court  attendants  for the town court of the town of Highlands, in the
          county of Orange, as peace officers
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-

        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Section  2.10 of the criminal procedure law is amended by
     2  adding a new subdivision 83 to read as follows:
     3    83. Employees of the town court of the town of  Highlands  serving  as
     4  court  attendants at such court; provided, however, that nothing in this
     5  subdivision shall be  deemed  to  authorize  such  employees  to  carry,
     6  possess,  repair  or dispose of a firearm unless the appropriate license
     7  therefor has been issued pursuant to section 400.00 of the penal law.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
