Senate Resolution No. 1059

        COMMEMORATING   the  Carlos  Lezama  Archives  and
        Caribbean  Cultural  Center's  "Lunch  by  the  Bay"
        honoring  Paul  Romeo  as 2025 Father of the Year on
        June 29, 2025
 
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of  this  Legislative  Body  to  honor  and
recognize the contributions of cultural institutions and individuals who
preserve  heritage, foster community pride, and uplift the voices of the
Caribbean-American diaspora; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is proud to commemorate the Carlos
Lezama Archives and Caribbean Cultural Center's "Lunch by  the  Bay,"  a
signature celebration of heritage, family, and excellence, to be held on
Sunday, June 29, 2025; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Held  annually  in  honor  of Father's Day, this cherished
event uplifts community values, celebrates legacy,  and  recognizes  the
vital role of fatherhood within the Caribbean cultural experience; and
 
  WHEREAS,  In 2025, the Carlos Lezama Archives and Caribbean Cultural
Center proudly honors Paul Romeo as Father of the Year,  in  recognition
of his unwavering dedication to family, his exemplary character, and his
deep commitment to community service and cultural preservation; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Paul  Romeo's selection as Father of the Year reflects not
only his personal integrity and achievements, but also the importance of
honoring men who serve as role models,  nurturers,  and  leaders  across
generations; and
 
  WHEREAS,  The  Carlos Lezama Archives and Caribbean Cultural Center,
founded in memory of the late cultural icon Carlos Lezama, continues  to
preserve  and  celebrate  the  contributions  of Caribbean people to the
fabric of New York life through education,  performance,  and  community
engagement; and
 
  WHEREAS,  This  Legislative  Body  is  proud  to join in this joyous
occasion, and to recognize both the celebration  and  its  distinguished
honoree  for  their contributions to cultural preservation and community
uplift; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
commemorate  the  Carlos Lezama Archives and Caribbean Cultural Center's
2025 "Lunch by the Bay," to be held on June 29, 2025, and to honor  Paul
Romeo  as  Father  of  the  Year,  with gratitude for his dedication and
leadership; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That copies of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted  to the Carlos Lezama Archives and Caribbean Cultural Center
and to Paul Romeo.
