Senate Resolution No. 1658

        HONORING  MD.  Abdullah Al Wadud upon the occasion
        of  his  designation  as   recipient   of   a   2019
        Scholarship  Award  by  the  Community  Council  for
        Medgar Evers College, Inc.
 
  WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body  to  commend  and
pay  tribute to those young people who, by achieving outstanding success
in their educational endeavors, have inspired and brought pride  to  our
majestic Empire State; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
MD. Abdullah Al Wadud upon the occasion of his designation as  recipient
of  a  2019  Scholarship Award by the Community Council for Medgar Evers
College, Inc. celebrated at  its  16th  Annual  Spring  Scholarship  and
Leadership Awards Luncheon on Saturday, April 27, 2019, in Brooklyn, New
York; and
 
  WHEREAS, MD. Abdullah Al Wadud is currently a Computer Science major
at Medgar Evers College and has a 3.135 GPA; and
 
  WHEREAS, Accepted into the NASA Space Grant Internship, MD. Abdullah
Al  Wadud  will participate on a team to build a CubeSat prototype to be
launched on a High-Altitude Balloon Experiment (HABE); and
 
  WHEREAS, In 2008, MD. Abdullah Al  Wadud  developed  software  while
attending  school  in  Bangladesh  where  he  led  design,  development,
implementation,  data  structures  and  algorithms  both  front-end  and
back-end; and
 
  WHEREAS,  A  true asset to society, MD. Abdullah Al Wadud volunteers
at Red Crescent, Bogra, Bangladesh for Disaster  Management  as  a  Team
Leader; and
 
  WHEREAS,  MD.  Abdullah  Al  Wadud,  in achieving this high academic
honor, may take just pride in the inspiration and  contribution  to  the
spirit  of  excellence  he  brings to his family, friends, community and
school; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
honor  MD.  Abdullah  Al  Wadud  upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of a 2019 Scholarship  Award  by  the  Community  Council  for
Medgar Evers College, Inc.; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to MD. Abdullah Al Wadud.
