Senate Resolution No. 1917

        CONGRATULATING Detective Christine Tamaro upon the
        occasion   of  her  retirement  after  30  years  of
        distinguished service to the Suffolk  County  Police
        Department
 
  WHEREAS,  It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor  those  distinguished  officers  and  citizens  who  would  devote
themselves  to public service, demonstrating great courage and diligence
in providing  for  the  care  and  welfare  of  the  citizens  of  their
communities and this great Empire State; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Within  every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment  and  dedication,
command  the  respect  and  admiration  of  their  community  for  their
exemplary contributions and service on behalf of others; and
 
  WHEREAS, This Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to  congratulate
Detective  Christine Tamaro upon the occasion of her retirement after 30
years of distinguished service to the Suffolk County Police  Department;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  Christine  Tamaro  began  her  illustrious  career  in law
enforcement as a police officer on February 13, 1989; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Upon  graduating  from  Suffolk  County  Police   Academy,
Christine  Tamaro was assigned to the Third Precinct Patrol, followed by
the Street Enforcement Unit, where she was promoted to Detective on July
10, 1994; and
 
  WHEREAS, Detective Christine Tamaro's later assignments included the
Second Precinct Detective Squad, the Special Victims Section, and then a
return to the Second Precinct Detective Squad in January  of  2017,  the
esteemed  position  from  which  she  will officially retire on July 10,
2019; and
 
  WHEREAS, For three  decades,  Detective  Christine  Tamaro  rendered
faithful,  conscientious  and  valuable  service  to  the Suffolk County
Police Department, earning her the admiration, esteem and  affection  of
her colleagues; and
 
  WHEREAS,  It  is  the  sense  of  this  Legislative  Body that those
dedicated public servants who unselfishly  devote  their  lives  to  the
preservation  of  order  and the protection of others are worthy and due
full praise for their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be
it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
congratulate  Detective  Christine  Tamaro  upon  the  occasion  of  her
retirement after 30 years of distinguished service to the Suffolk County
Police Department; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Detective Christine Tamaro.
