CONGRATULATING the New Hartford Indoor Percussion
Ensemble upon the occasion of winning the New York
State Percussion Circuit Championship on April 7,
2024
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
dedication and commitment of our young people who distinguish themselves
through excellence in musical competition; and
WHEREAS, Musical competition provides an opportunity for students to
exhibit their practical skills to an audience, thereby giving them a
sense of pride in their hard work and efforts; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate the New Hartford Indoor Percussion Ensemble upon the
occasion of winning the New York State Percussion Circuit Championship
at Gates Chili High School in Rochester, New York, on Sunday, April 7,
2024; and
WHEREAS, The New Hartford Indoor Percussion Ensemble (NHIPE), of New
Hartford Central School, attained the gold medal, scoring 89.825 at the
state championship; performing its award-winning show, "Out of the
Dust," the group competed in the Percussion Scholastic A class which
included 14 other groups from New York State; and
WHEREAS, All the members of the New Hartford Indoor Percussion
Ensemble were mindful of representing themselves, their school, and
their community by performing with the highest standard of excellence;
the group is scheduled to compete at the Winter Guard International
Percussion World Championship in Dayton, Ohio, from April 18-20, 2024;
and
WHEREAS, It should be further noted that excellence in field band is
possible only through vigorous practice and discipline, habits that will
guide these young musicians to a lifetime of success in musical careers
or other vocations; and
WHEREAS, The New Hartford Indoor Percussion Ensemble's achievements
stand as a proud testament to the hard work of its members and the
dedication of its parents, teachers, administration, and community,
illustrating the spirit of excellence and achievement; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the New Hartford Indoor Percussion Ensemble
who positively represent their school, serve as role models to their
classmates, exemplify the goal of continued excellence, and bring great
pride to their community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the New Hartford Indoor Percussion
Ensemble.
